"Life" and "time" are two words each with just “four” letters of the alphabet. These two words are important in the life of every living being, they shape and structure one's existence on earth. Back then in High school, every morning during the morning devotion/assembly, our teachers will tell us to utilize our time; to use our time wisely for it is what shapes and determines our existence. I can vividly picture the writings on the wall “Use your time judiciously”, “what have I gained today? these writings are still there, bold and clean. These simple words on the wall have shaped the lives of many, both positively and negatively. Some adhered to them; they read them every morning and afternoon because they are so close to the school gate that whenever you are going out or coming into the school compound, you MUST set your eyes on them.
Life in its simplest definition is the existence of an individual, human being or animal. Time on the other hand is an instance or occurrence, it is also an experience! The gift of life many say is the gift of time, this is a fact I have long held so dear. Once you are born, your life starts, and this life of yours starts with time. Life is too short to be wasted, why not make it worthwhile? Quoting from zynabaminu’s blog “Time is said to be a wise counselor. As it goes by, it allows an individual to grow. This growth gives experience. An experience that helps an individual in decision making. The wise and talented makes use of time fruitfully; and those who do not know the importance waste it”. As time goes by, you are also growing and life is also moving. Time doesn’t wait for life and life also doesn’t wait for time, the two move hand in hand and can never be separated.
"Life"and "time" are the two world’s best teachers, life teaches us to make good use of time and time teaches us the value of life. If you love life don’t waste time for time is what life is made up of. Life is a one-time offer. Life is once, its either you use it well or never! Every morning, we wake up with different expectations because it’s a new day and a time to face challenges, a time to smile, a time to make differences, a time to explore and do amazingly great things among others.
How we use our time determines how we’ve live our life. Every day we do different things, we plan our days, sometimes we move in line with our plans, other times we get carried away and ignore those plans and move on with whatever we lay our hands on. One of the best ways to use our time judiciously and let it reflect in your life is to plan your day(s), take a moment to reflect on what you have done in the past. Ask yourself “did I utilize my time to the best of my ability today” did I add value and benefit to my life today”?
The secret of getting ahead in life is “planning”. Plan your day according to your convenience and time; make your plans beneficial to you and those around you. Time is a patient teacher and as such, you are expected to be a patient student. A life that is well lived is an evidence that you used your time judiciously. Plan your day(s), in such a way that with each day passing by, you leave a legacy behind, Quoting Maya Angelou “Your legacy in life is not the number of shoes, clothes or bags in your closet, but the number of lives you’ve touched”. Touch a soul each day. You can only live a legacy behind when you’ve planned your life, and planning takes place with time!
If you’ve not been in track and have failed to obey the world’s best teachers, it is never too late to turn the hands of the clock around and start all over, it is only late when you know about these best teachers and still fail to obey them. We have 365/366 days in a year and 24 hours in each day. Sit back and ask yourself “what have I achieved so far”?
If you hang out with friends that are not adding value to your life, forget about them, if you do things that are not meaningful, ignore them they are only consuming your time and wasting your life. Refuse to entertain negativity, life is too big and time is too short to be caught up in an empty drama because. You only live once (Y.O.L.O)
Make every second in your life count.
